Most Sit n' Go poker tourneys are structured in ways where players have a much higher percentage of qualifying in the money than most standard poker tournaments where players must finish in the Top 10% of players to cash in. Looking at only (single table) Sit n' Go's, most tourneys are structured where players have anywhere from a 30% (3 out of 10 players), 33.3% (2 out of 6 players) and all the way up to a 50% (1 out of 2 players, Head's Up), chance of placing in the money.
With the NEW 6 handed tournament structure, poker players have a whopping 66.6% chance of placing in the money. This new structure is developed for players who really like to earn money and who like to have a much higher percentage chance of placing in the money and walking away with profits.The new 6 handed poker tourney structure pays the TOP 4 players 25% each of the prize pool. The 6 handed tourney can be structured as a Sit n' Go, where 6 players sit and 4 walk away with 25% of the prize pool AND/OR as a standard tourney, where 6 players sit at a table and the Top 4 advance to the next table of 6 players for Round 2 and so on to Round 3, Round 4, etc....
Let's look at a sample 6 handed tourney:
IE: 6 players pay a buy-in of $100 = $600 (Prize Pool) ....the Top 4 players walk away with 25% each of the prize pool, which equals = $150.
Now that's appealing to many poker players nowadays, especially players who like to play the Sit n' Go format. Even a Head's Up game, would only provide a player with a 50% chance of earning money. ** The TOP 4 on each table, can either walk away with all their money ....or choose to pocket the profits (ie: pocket the $250 profits, in a $500 buy-in game) and reinvest the $500 into a Round 2 - 6 handed game and play on. So, players can pocket their profits at the end of each table and keep playing on to the next Round (6 handed) ....or players can simply choose to walk away with all their money at the end of any 6 handed table.
With this new 6 handed structure, it allows players to have a significant chance or earning some great money in poker tournament play. No more having to place in the top 10% of the field.
