Antonio Esfandiari wins WPT Five Diamond World Poker Classic at the Bellagio

From a pool of 438 players and a buy-in of $10,000 in the Dec 3-8th, 2010 WPT Doyle Brunson Five Diamond World Poker Classic, Antonio Esfandiari wins $870,124 to claim his first place prize and WPT title.Over 6 grueling days of grinding, Antonio Esfandiari emerged as the victor of a large pool of well known poker pros and seasoned professionals to take the 2010 WPT title and assuring to the poker community that he still has the fire going and is still regarded as one of the best seasoned poker players to play in the poker circuit today.
The final table (of six players) was made up by: Antonio Esfandiari, Andrew Robl, Vanessa Rousso, John Racener, Kirk Morrison and Ted Lawson.Vanessa Rousso also known as "Lady Maverick", put in an impressive 3rd place finish in the WPT event and definitely held her own as the final table saw its chip lead go back and
forth from Vanessa to Antonio Esfandiari to Andrew Robl and then back to Vanessa and onward. Vanessa played a really aggressive game winning her many pots and gaining respect from her opponents, as the sole woman standing in the top tournament qualifiers. Her Q2 met her final match play as she hit Antonio Esfandiari with AQ, that held up to win the hand and knock Vanessa out and leave her in 3rd place. Then, the match would go head's up between Antonio Esfandiari and Andrew Robl.
The head's up duel went on for what seemed to be the longest time, as it was settled in the early hours of the morning at the Bellagio's Fontana Room towards 3:30 AM and to claim Antonio Esfandiari as the tournament winner and $870,124 richer as a poker player.The final results and rankings for the final table finished as follows:
